“The Fiords of the Nords”
A group of school pupils enjoyed a ten day trip to the Stavanger area of Norway at the end of the summer term. They were entirely self sufficient and carried all their food and camping gear in the canoes. The weather was wonderful with only fifteen minutes rain in the ten days. The group achieved all their aims in meeting the local population, studying the geography of the fiords, working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award and exploring an unknown area. Many contacts were made with a view to a return to this area in future years.
